In 1999 Greg Hartmann built an amazing hockey rink at 4800 28th Street, the site of the Gateway Fun Park on the east side of the parking lot. Since then the community has grown into two leagues that play year round on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Tuesday (Gold) league is for advanced skills. First games are either 6 or 6:30, depending on the season. The Thursday (Silver) league is intermediate to advanced players and games start at 6. There is also a Sunday pickup free skate at 11:00 am. Since the rink is outdoors, even though we play year round, it is subject to the weather. You can check the status of games on this website and also on the updated phone message at 303-835-7442.
All skill levels are welcome. This is not the NHL so leave your ego behind. If you need to play hard and have the skill, play on Tuesdays. It is our wish to resume a Wednesday (Bronze) beginner to intermediate league…even if only two teams. So if you are just starting or need to get your high altitude legs, call and inquire about that. We need a minimum of 10 players to get that going.
